Movember
I've decided to grow a Mo for Movember not so much to raise money but to raise awareness for men's health issues. With a grandfather who died of Prostate cancer in his 50s and having had my own struggle for a season with depression. As Men we are not known for going to the Doctor until the ambulance picks us up and hauls us away. It astound me the publicity given to Women's health issues and yet mens issues seem to not have anywhere near the same profile let alone funding for research.
I realise we all ha
ve to die of something and that medical science is not a complete answer to the ailments of most men but I am convinced that if we will begin to think more proactively about our physical health maybe we will do the same and consider our spiritual wellbeing as well.
Come on guys...suck in that pride and go and make friends with your local doctor, why not walk there as well I'm sure the exercise would be good for you, might get rid of the gunk in your arteries.
I can hear those of you that know me, in between the gafaws and choking saying; 'after you'. Well I've made a start, apart from growing a Mo:-{) I've had prostate checks twice now over the past few years, and I haven't even turned gay!
Have a great Movember.
